NJIRA IMPACT COMMENDED AT NKHOTAKOTA DHMT MEETING.

On 13 February 2026, Njira Impact met with the Nkhotakota District Health Management Team (DHMT) to review progress made in 2025 and plan together for health activities in 2026 across the facilities and communities where Njira Impact provides services.

The meeting brought together district health leaders, including coordinators, health in-charges, administrators, nursing officers, and public health officers from across Nkhotakota, to strengthen collaboration and align plans for the year ahead.

Speaking during the meeting, Mr. Kafulafula, District Medical Officer (DMO) for Nkhotakota District Hospital, appreciated the work that Njira Impact is doing as a partner to the district health system. He noted that Njira Impact remains one of the key partners supporting the hospital by delivering crucial health services closer to communities, especially in hard-to-reach areas.

The District SRHR Coordinator also highlighted the positive impact of Njira Impact’s mobile clinics, noting that the district is now seeing improved access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services among young people. He explained that, compared to some years before Njira Impact began providing these services, more youth in Nkhotakota are now able to access family planning, screening, and health education through the mobile SRHR clinics.

He added that the SRHR clinic model offered by Njira Impact is helping many young people receive services closer to their communities, contributing to noticeable improvements in district health figures

The meeting also discussed how health programs will be conducted in 2026 across all supported facilities, with continued collaboration between Njira Impact and the District Health Office to ensure communities receive quality and accessible health services.

Njira Impact continues to work hand in hand with the district health system to bring essential services closer to the people of Nkhotakota.
