NJIRA IMPACT HELPING WOMEN GROW PROSPERITY.

Across communities, a quiet transformation is taking root — one led by women who are turning small vegetable gardens into sources of income, nutrition, and hope.

Through Njira Impact’s targeted Livelihoods support, more than 4,500 women are now earning around MK50,000 (USD 28) every week from vegetable winter cropping. What once began as a small effort to promote backyard gardening has grown into a powerful driver of household income and food security.

For many of these women, the change goes far beyond money. Their families are eating healthier meals, children are staying in school, and communities are becoming more resilient.

“We used to depend on seasonal farming and struggled when rains delayed,” shared one of the women farmers. “Now, I can grow vegetables throughout the year and sell them at the market. I earn enough to feed my family and even save a little.”

Njira Impact’s approach combines practical training, access to seeds, and ongoing mentorship helping women not only to farm but to manage their businesses and plan for the future.

The results speak for themselves: stronger incomes, improved nutrition, and a growing sense of independence among women who are now shaping their own destinies.

By equipping women with the right tools and knowledge, Njira Impact is cultivating more than crops it’s cultivating resilience, dignity, and healthier communities across Malawi.
